Blue boats, canal, and houses painted blue, red, orange, yellow. Burano, known for knitted lacework, fishing, and colorfully painted houses, is a small archipelago of four islands linked by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy, Europe. Burano’s traditional house colors are strictly regulated by the government. This charming fine art photograph by veteran travel photographer Tom Dempsey is an excellent attention grabber and a pleasing scene for you and your guests.
Born in California, Tom Dempsey bought his first camera in 1978. During a memorable nine-month trip around the world in 1981, he captured the wonders of New Zealand, Nepal, Norway, France, and Switzerland on color slide film. A move to Washington State motivated him to publish his images in magazines and books. Switching to digital cameras after 2003 increased his creativity with instant feedback and freedom from the tripod. Tom has published images in various publications and books worldwide, including National Geographic Traveler Greece, Moon Istanbul & Turkish Coast, Nature Journal of Science, National Geographic Maps and many more!
